One big step for me, One extra candle on the cake.
WARNING: Pretty cheesy stuff below, just sayin.
In 24 hours, I become a legal adult.
I have been wracking my mind on how to celebrate my transition to adulthood.
So I looked around my room for inspiration, first I saw my pile of comics and thought to myself “Wow, im gonna be an adult soon, its a little sad im still into these things maybe I should get rid of them.” so I went downstairs and with great abandon put them in a box. Next I saw my video games and did the same(It was tough). Next I turned my eyes to my closet. I took all my spiderman shirts, the captain america hats, the starwars sweaters and put them away(and yes I really did this).
Soon, my room was empty, and I guess I was a little too.
but then I realized you dont become and adult by throwing away your, comics your video games, your spiderman shirts, your posters, by throwing away the stuff that shows who you really are. I realized I already am an adult, you dont become one simply by living for 18 years, its your friends,family,relationships,hobbies and interests that help shape you to become the about Man/Woman the you are to be. so I unpacked everything. being an adult isnt about throwing away the stuff you love, but simply growing to be a more my own person and being a responsible person,one who soon might start a family, and if the road to getting there might mean outgrowing the hobbies of my youth, then so be it. But until I hit that point on the road, the giant spiderman poster on my wall stays. :P
